1981 Tokai Precision Bass 57 Reissue gold
Ca. 1981 Tokai Precision Bass '57 Reissue, gold. Made in Japan, serial number 101988. This bass has been professionally refinished in a metallic gold shade, the neck is also refinished, nitro was used for both. Mounts old Seymour Duncan SPB-1 pickups and probably a Fender Japan pickguard and electronics from around 1990. Judging from the wear on the neck (small stress crack on the back as well, solid), the refinish must at least be that old as well. The bridge plate is also an older replacement. Why the high price? This bass has the feel of a nicely worn in 1950s and 1960s P-Bass and the sound can compete with that as well. Weighs 3.9kg.
