1956 Gretsch 6128 Duo Jet lefty black

1956 Gretsch 6128 Duo Jet lefty black

1956 Gretsch 6128 Duo Jet lefty, black. Made in USA, serial number 16623. This guitar was James Duncombe of The Rackets’ (Skinny Minnie) main guitar for decades and as such is in perfect structural condition with a few player friendly mods. The pots were swapped out in 1961. The neck was reset professionally along with a much needed repair to stabilize the neck joint. It was also refretted and plays wonderfully. The guitar currently has a Bigsby tremolo mounted, but the original Gretsch tailpiece is in the original tweed Gretsch hardshell case. You might find a bunch of changed screws, but the important stuff is there. Go find another factory left handed 6128 and much less one that’s stage ready and sounds as haunting as this one does. Weighs only 3.4kg!
